. •
RULE 2.41(5): THE TYPE AND APPROXIMATE QUANTITY OF FERTILIZERS, ORGANIC
MATERIAL, OR SOIL CONDITIONERS USED AND LOCATION OF USE.
No fertilizers or soil amendments were added.
RULE 2.41(6): AN APPRAISAL OF THE SUCCESS OF RECLAMATION EFFORTS, AND
IN THE EVENT OF FAILURE OF ANY EFFORTS, A SHORT NARRATIVE ON THE
SUSPECTED OR DETERMINED CAUSE OF SUCH FAILURE.
The visual berm is maintaining its growth well. The grasses and
legumes have become well established and control runoff very well. It
does not appear that anything other than minimal maintenance will be
needed on this area. During this next growing season (1986) another
assessment of the tree planting success will be made.
RULE 2.41(7): ESTIMATES OF THE LOCATION AND NUMBER OF ACRES TO BE
AFFECTED IN THE COMING YEAR.
During the next year, it is anticipated that the pit will continue
to be deepened. It is not known whether work will begin on the back
highwall during the next year oc not, but it seems probable as the pit
cannot be taken much deeper. If it does expand into the back highwall
area then it will be essentially the first time since the permit was
issued that the land actually mined will have been expanded beyond what
was originally permitted and will also initiate the process of making
most of the quarry disappear, as proposed and approved in the amendment.
MAP: A map is provided which shows the area which was affected and the
area under reclamation. It also shows the area that may be affected if
the back highwall is mined during the next year.
Page 2 of 2 Permit 77-210 Snyder Quarry 1986 Annual Report
