<br />Introduced annual and biennial (orbs were the dominant litetorm in this unit with 56.4 percent
<br />of total vegetation cover (Table 10). Twolobe speedwell accounted for nearly two-thirds of this
<br />percentage while Jim Hill mustard contributed nearly one-fifth and burning-bush, prickly
<br />lettuce, Russian thistle, and pennycress were also important. Bull thistle, tarweed, yellow
<br />sweetclover, and devil's shoestrings were minor contributors. Alyssum (Alvssum alyssoides),
<br />littlepod falseflax (Camelina microcaroa), Iamb's quarters (Cheno odium album), hound's
<br />tongue, early stickseed, salsify, tower mustard (Turitis bra), and mullein were present.
<br />Native annual and biennial forbs accounted for 3.2 percent of total vegetation cover. Tumbling
<br />saltbush, linearleaf collomia, and microsteris each provided one-fifth of this lifeform's cover
<br />percentage. Together, pinnate tansymustard (Descurainia inns a), prairie sunflower
<br />(Helianthus iolari ), and denseflower pepperweed provided the remaining two-fifths.
<br />• Western rockjasmine, American wintercress (Barbarea orihoceras), oakleaf goosefoot, and
<br />dragonhead were also present. Native perennial forbs averaged 4.8 percent of total vegetation
<br />cover. Western yarrow contributed two-thirds of this average while willow-herb, showy
<br />goldeneye, and American vetch accounted for the balance. Blue flax, nettle-leaf giant hyssop,
<br />prairie onion ( li m x it ), pasture sage, (ringed thistle ( irsi centaureae), Eaton
<br />fleabane ( i r n ae tonii var. ea onii), showy fleabane, groundsmoke, gumweed, white-
<br />flowered peavine, tailcup lupine, chokecherry lupine (J_uoinus rp unophilus), hoary tansyaster
<br />(Machaeranthera ~anescens), wild tarragon, multilobe groundsel (Packers multilobata),
<br />Palmer penstemon (penstemon ap Imeri), Rocky Mountain penstemon, common yampa, varileaf
<br />scorpionweed, scorpionweed (Phacelia spp.), James starwort, willow dock, lambstongue
<br />groundsel, Pacific aster, and virgulus (Virgulus spp.) were present. The introduced perennial
<br />(orbs; titer milkvetch and alfalfa, accounted for 3.8 percent of total vegetation cover. Canada
<br />thistle and dandelion were also present.
<br />Native perennial cool season grasses averaged 13.5 percent of total vegetation cover. Mountain
<br />brome and Agassiz bluegrass each contributed one-quarter of this lifeform's cover percentage
