• Ground Rater Quality S'•^^-~. Mining that has occurred et Semena II-R hoe had little
effect on ground rater quality this yeaz. Incraseinq TD9 trends at calls dorngtsdiant of
mining are just beginning to be observed at Rolls RHN.7-2, RSAL12, ROy17, and RR16.
Agricultural ground rater etandazds !or boron, chlorides, icon, manganese, molybdenum,
diseolwd solids, and sulfates rare ezceade6 at caztain monitoring cells.
Surface Rater
At Seneca II-R, all stream cites aze monitored monthly (excluding November to February)
for floc and field pazametars. Samples obtained at theca Bites aza analysed for the
surface rates pazametar list, Table 9 (Appendiz A) during April, June, and September.
Eight epringa are monitored at Seneca II-R. They are monitored semiannually (once in
April-June, then aqua in September-November for floc, field pazemetere, and, if floc
exceeds !iw gpm, the surface rater pazameter list. A e••^^^--y of surface rater monitoring
cites and sampling history is presented in Table 10 (Appendiz A). Monitoring fxequenciae
Por surface rater cites may be found on Paga 15-3-2 of the Sanaca II-R PAP.
All suriaca rater data ie found in Appendix E. Data for each vita in Appendix B begins
rith a floc hydrograph of all historic data (plus an annual hydrograph for NPDES eitea),
follorad by a listing of individual rater quality and quantity data !or the current rater
yeaz, a TDS ragraeeion plot using the LORESS method (sae the Ground Rater Quality
section), and a listing of hiatoxic percent milliaquivalent values !or major ions and TDS
values. The range of valves on the TDS plots ie set automatically by n computer program
sad cannot be user defined. The follorinq discussion of rater quality rill limit itself
to a Qaseription of TDS trends. A eapazata section, Compazieoa o! Surface Rater Quality
to Rater Uea Standazds, rill list those samples that azcaed rates use atmdazds. Lab
samples aze handled in n metier identical to rhst was discussed eazlier in the ground
rater section. For the sake of Dxavity, the pratiz that precedes sll surface rater site
names rill often be dropped throughout this report. As an azampla, Site RSS7 rill be
referred to ae Site 7.
Surface Rntar Sita SR-SZW-SC7 (RSS7). This cite is located on Hubbarson Culch upstream o!
the confluence o! mina diechazgae contained in 006 Culeh. Its purpose is to provide
• undisturbed rater quality data.
