4.0 1991 PROJECT ACTIVITIES
4.1 On-Site Facilities and Process Description
4.1.1 General Arrangement
NaTec Minerals, Inc. operates the Wolf Ridge Mine producing a high grade sodium
bicarbonate (bicarb) on four federal sodium lease tracts within the Piceance Basin
in Northwestern Colorado. Figure 2-1 illustrates location of project, leases, wells,
access road and associated utility lines. Figure 41 illustrates overall process
facilities site plan.
4.1.2 Process
Pregnant liquor is recovered from the recovery well (88-1) and flows to the
pregnant liquor storage tank located in the tank farm. Within the process building,
• the bicarb in the pregnant liquor is crystallized by cooling, dewatered by vacuum
filtration and flash dried. The dried product is weighed on the belt scale conveyor
enroute to the bulk storage dome. All product leaving the facility is weighed on
the truck scale. Figure 4-1 illustrates location of the tank farm, process building,
bulk storage and "legal for trade" truck scale. Figure 4-2 is a new flowsheet
illustrating process detail.
4.1.3 tilitie
Location of NaTec's powerline, water well, natural gas, access road and other
utilities are shown on Figure 2-1. The following is a description of current
utilities:
a. White River Electric provides power to the site. The service was a
two part process, the first of which was the completion of a 2.5 mile
11
