NaTec <br />submitted a letter of interest to the BLM regarding lease modification/land <br />exchange September 5, 1991. <br />3.0 PROJECT STATUS AND SCHEDULE <br />3.1 Status <br />3.1.1 Annual Plan <br />The 1990 Project Status and Annual Plan of development was submitted <br />December 26, 1990 and approved January 7, 1991. <br />• 3.1.2 Regulatory Submittals <br />The Mine Plan was submitted January 17, 1991 and approved January 31, 1991. <br />The Monitoring plan revision was submitted February 27, 1991. <br />3.1.3 Project Activities <br />Circulation through the mine commenced on February 20, 1991; and the first <br />sodium bicarbonate was produced on February 25, 1991. The initial production <br />through March, 1991 was subsequently disposed of in the waste pond due to <br />unacceptable levels of sodium chloride in the product. <br />A soft market and lack of inventory storage facility at the mine forced a <br />suspension of operations on August 27, 1991. Operations were scheduled to <br />~• resume January 6, 1992. <br />6 <br />
