Comments are made regarding prelinunary construction plans
which depict the follo«-ing proposed sti-uctures~ crushing plant, settling pond,
coin-e~ or, stack tubes, portal bench, staging bench, shop and warehouse,
adnunistration and bath-house, and topsoil stockpile.
3.1 East Side of Sylvester Gulch. From Hiahwav 133 to Fan Portal
Beginning at Highway 133 and proceeding south along the east side of
Sylvester Gulch, a broad gently sloping bench is encountered, just otf High~yay
133 and directly east of the GOB pile. apparently stable with no hydrologic
drainage problems, this bench would be a good area for heave structure
construction, such as a crushing plant. Proceeding another o00 feet south from
this bench, directly across from the subsoil stockpile, is a grove of aspen,
indicating shallow groundwater. An active slide and an apparent spring exist
along the upper southern extent of the aspen growth. This area should be
avoided for construction purposes.
From opposite the subsoil stockpile to the fan portal, the east side of
. Sylvester Gulch is generally hummocky with active landslides. Shallow

3
i
