(BMRI) -San Luis <br />Divisbn of ivlinerais ~ ~ie~iupy <br />The following is a summary of activities at BMRI's San Luis Mine during 1996. <br />Reclamation Activities <br />The following is a description of reclamation activities for 1996. (See attached map.) <br />500 pinon and 450 rocky mountain juniper seedlings were planted at the East Pit area. <br />Several benches in the West Pit area were broadcast seeded as were the top of Waste Rock <br />C, tap of the final raise on the Main Embankment at the tailings impoundment, the east side <br />and the top of Waste Rock D and the top of the South Waste Rock. The following mix was <br />used for seeding: <br />Soecies(olsl Ibs/acre <br />Western Wheatgrass 4 <br />Slender Wheatgrass 3 <br />Blue Grama 2 <br />Indian Ricegrass 2 <br />Mountain Muhly 1 <br />Spike Muhly 1.05 <br />Mountain Mahogany 0.5 <br />Winterfat 0.5 <br />Slender Wheatgrass and Spike Muhly were not available. Mountain Brome and Cicer <br />Milkvetch were used in their place. Colorado Seed Company recommended these seeds as <br />closely resembling the seeds that they were to replace. <br />
