Best management practices (BMPs): schedules of activities, protu'bitions of practices, maintenance procedures, and other management practices to prevent or reduce the pollution of waters of the State, BMPs also include treatment, operating procedures, and practices to control site runoff, spillage or leaks, waste disposal, of drainage from material storage, BMPs include stmctural and nonstructural controls. T-- - , 2. Operator: the individual who has day-to-day supervision and control of activities occurring at the mine site. 3. Remediation, as used in this permit, means actions taken to reduce or eliminate the overall adverse environmental impact associated with a pollutant source, The term includes actions such as re-routing of surface flows, re- location or a pollutant source, Ore addition of pollutant neutralizing or immobilizing substances, capping and re- vegetation 4. Significant Materials include but are not limited to: raw materials; fuels; materials such as metallic products; hazardous substances designated under section 101(14) of CERL`LA; fertilizers; pesticides; and waste products such as ashes, slag and sludge that Crave the potential to be released with stormwater discharge. GENERAL MONITORING, SAMPLING, AND REPORTING REQUIItEMENTS 1. Routine Reoortin¢ ofData Reporting of the data gathered in compliance with Part LB.1 shall be on a ovarterly basis. Reporting of all data gathered shall comply with the requirements of Part I.E. (Genera] Requirements). Monitoring results shall be summarized for each calendar quarter and reported on Division approved dischazge monitoring report (DMR) forms (EPA form 3320-1). One form shall be mailed to the Water Quality Control Division, as indicated below, so that the DMR is received no later than the 28th day of the monilr following the end of the quarter (foi exar~rle, the DMR for the first calendaz quarter must be received by the Division by April 28th). If no discharge occurs during the reporting period, "No Discharge" shall be reported. Tire DMR forms consist of four pages -the top "original" copy, and three attached no-carbon-requited copies. The Discharge Monitoring Report forms shall be filled out accurately and completely in accordance with requirements of this pernilt and the instructions on the forms.
