A considerable amount of
germination of the Sweet Clover was reported last year. In
early May, 1981, the area was reinspected and the results
clearly reveal that a slope at or very slightly less than
the angle of repose can be successfully seeded and revegetated.
It also reveals that slopes that continue to exhibit instability
generally cannot be successfully revegetated with anything.
This experiment in harsh condition revegetation has
indicated that even these sandy soils can be revegetated if
the slope is about a 3:1 or less.
