• 8urlaee Watrr Site SW-92W-PGS (Y89F3). This sitr is situated on Sage Creek upstream of
the ispacts from the Seneca II-W Nine (and also 8CC's Yoast Nine). lbnitorinq at this
site commenced in September, 1990. Aevier o! the hydrograph indicates the second highest
peak flor on record occurred this year. The TD9 trend !or this site is nearly level.
NPD88 009 (NFDES9). This site is situated on a tributary to 9age Creek and ras
constructed in October, 1991. As of yet, no lion has occurred fr® this pond. Data from
the discontinued Surface Water 81tr SW-82W-803 (W983, period of record: July, 1979 to Nay,
1986) will be used in future A8R's ae the baseline data for this NPDES site.
surface Watrr eitr eW-92W-P64 (WS8P3). This site is situated on 9age Creek domatream of
the impacts Pram the Seneca II-W Mine (and also 8CC's Yoast Mine). Monitoring of this
site ~~""'+~ced in September, 1990. Fevlew of the hydrograph indicates the highest peak
!lw on record. The TD8 trend for this site appeazs to be increasing slightly, although
no aline discharges are present at this sitr yet.
rin s. Spring data may be found after surface ratrr data in Appendix 8. Data provided
• ass a water quality report for the year, hlatorlc floc measurements, a IAW888 plot of
field conductivities (corrected to 25° C since 10/1/89), and a hlatorlc listing o£ percent
millequivalenta of ma]or ions and TDB. In Appendix E, all springs have a WBPG prefix
(e.q., spring a-45 = W9F045).
Spring a-45, or the Olson spring, is not a florinq spring, but a three-foot Qias~eter cell
placed in the alluvium of Dry Creek. since a cell ras drilled on the Olson ranch in
eeptember, 1980, this "spring" has not been put to vac, although it is rater-righted for
stock use. The electrical conductivity (BC) plot indicates a decreasing trend.
spring a-1 is located in the channel of an ephemeral drainage that is an unnamed tributary
to gage Creek. Further dornatream in this drainage is the 009 Fond that ras eanetructed
in October, 1991. The 8C plot indicates an increasing trend.
Spring a-23, located at the head vatrrs of the 006 Gulch, is located in the channel of an
ephemeral drainage. This spring is upstream of proposed mining and should not be affected
by mining. The 8C plot Sndieatrs an increasing trend until 1995, at rhich time it
• decreased.
9
