were applied between mid-July and late-August. Climax staged 23 dmt of Class B sludge that
were delivered between September and December 2002 as described below. This tonnage is
reserved for 2003 application. Total Class B tonnage received from Summit County producers in
2002 was 568 dmt. As discussed, Parker AG Services report will cover all Class A (EQ)
biosolids.
Biosolids received by the Climax Mine are handled by one of three methods. Summer deliveries
from the Snake River plant are applied on the Mayflower Tailing Impoundment. During winter
months, Snake River delivers biosolids to the Robinson site where the Robinson Class `B"
operation occurs. This material, combined with biosolids from Breckenridge and Frisco
Sanitation Districts aze staged in static piles with a 1:1 wood chip: sludge mix
The third operation at Climax is an EQ (Class A) composting operation for JSA, Copper
Mountain, and Frisco Sanitation District production. Parker AG (BMP #1352) reports these
activities under separate cover.
Spreading is done with aloader/truck operation followed by dozer or grader work to obtain a
uniform application of approximately 30 dmt/acre. The biosolids and wood chips provide an
organic base over the rock capped tailing impoundment and assist in the reclamation of the site.
An original of this report has been sent to the Colorado Department of Public Health and
Environment, Biosolids Management Program as required.
Please call me at (719) 486-2150, ext. 723 if you have any questions or require additional
clarifications.
e
Sin rely,
r~
Bryce R.
