1995 Annual Hydrologic Report
• Page 9
Creek with mining past SWGS-02 being delayed indefinitely. An increase in inflows is
expelled as mining progress east, but is not expected to significantly influence the flow
in the Creeks. Permit revisions were made to monitor potential surface and hydrologic
affects of mining on Coal Canyon and Jerry Creels Hydrologic information collected at
these sites will be included in the 1996 and subsequent AHR's.
Consumptive water use continued to be closely tied to production and is expected to
show similar trends in the future. Gallons per raw ton were up primarily due to an
increased emphasis on dust control. Gallons per clean ton were down because of an
increased emphasis on mining clean coal, less roof and floor rock, and selling coal with
a higher ash which results in a higher percent of raw coal being sold.
•
•
