Snn Luu Projcct - Phue n Raise I expansion Conawetion Stator Report
' year. Utilizing an average head on the liner of 1.8 ft., the total seepage throl~gh liner holes or
flaws reduces to 52.6 gallons per year. Table 1 presents the results of a parametric study of
potential seepage rates. These seepage rates calculations assume a drain layer permeability of
2 x 10'" crn/sec as indicated by the field permeability test results. Utilizing a higher
permeability, such as those indicated by the preliminary results of the laboratory permeability
tests on the drain layer material, will result in a substantial decrease in calculated seepage rates.
Seepage rate calculations are contained in Appendu G.
TABLE 1
1

1

1

1
LJ
1
Controlling Tailings
Permeability
(an/sec) Maximtno Head
on IT4.at
(ft) Avg.
