RULE 2.41 7 ESTIMATES OF THE LOCATION AND NUMBER OF ACRES TO BE
AFFECTED IN THE COMING YEAR.
The next year will probably see no increase in the acreage affected
except for the addition of the new road lands which will amount to about
1 acre. All of the extraction activity will be restricted to the west
wall, the quarry floor, and the extreme east end.
Another likely addition for the next year will be a wash system for
products produced at this quarry. The Colorado Springs City Council has
given preliminary approval for Castle Concrete to access water from the
nearby Cedar Heights water system. This will be piped to the quarry,
placed in a large storage tank, and subsequently utilized in a clarifier
system to wash the rock produced at the quarry. Part of this system
will involve the use of at least two settling ponds which will be
constructed within the existing quarry near the processing plant.
MAP: A map is provided which shows the various features discussed in
this report.
Page 3 of 3 Permit 77-210 Snyder Quarry 1987 Annual Report
