ALBERT FRET AND SONS, INC.
WORTHING SUBDIVISION
CASE # SS76-ZP
irrigation well located near the northeast corner of the permit
area. This irrigation well (#1) is approximately 480 feet from
the dewatering area, it is on the list of wells that lie in the
construction area of E-470 and will be plugged and abandoned.
Our dewatering will have no impact on this well because it will
not be operable.
There are 4 wells listed as being located on the property we
are mining. Three are high capacity irrigation wells listed as
being owned by the previous land owner, Jack Worthing. We now
own the property and therefore own the wells. The gravel pit
well is registered to us and is the area to be dewatered. As the
owner of these wells, we understand that they will be impacted by
dewatering. we are filing change of ownership forms with the
State Engineers office for the irrigation wells. Of the remain-
ing 4 wells, 2 are deep wells, 1 is a shallow domestic/livestock
well (#3) and 1 is a shallow livestock well (#4) near the feedlot
east of the northeast corner of the site.
Using this information to analyze the site, we find that it
is possible our dewatering could affect wells 1, 3, and 4. These
three wells will be abandoned by mid-November and plugged as the
highway is built. Well #1 may be replaced but at this time we do
not know when, so according to our analysis, our dewatering will
have no major impact on the surface wells around this site. Our
dewatering would only affect wells down gradient to the north,
and there are none in this area. Once the dewatering ends, the
ground-water table will return to at least its present level.
When the Division of Minerals and Geology approved the November
2000 Technical Revision, they accepted this analysis.
TABLE 1
USE NUMBER OF
WELLS
Irrigation 4
Domestic or household 3
Commercial, Irrigation,
Recreational 1
Gravel pit 2
Livestock 1
Total 11
12
