NPDES Location & COG-850019- Outflow 001 (pond SP-1)
Name
List of Effluent Limits See NPDES Permit
Summary of PHC Which Ground Water; The potential for diminution of ground water
Relates to the Monitoring in the bedrock aquifers overlying the mined coal seam is small
Plan due to the small size of the mine, the lack of communication
of the coal seam with overlying beds, and the lack of potential
of the rock strata within the affected section to supply a high
quality ground water resource. Subsidence has the potential to
create fractures in the interbedded shale layers between the
mined coal seam and the aquifers and could disrupt the
recharge zones for the aquifers and result in the diminution of
water supply for the current users. Surface Water; Potential
impacts are increased TDS levels to Harvey Gap surface water
system, but is not projected to diminish the agricultural use of
the alluvial water.
Comments Mine was reclaimed in 1995. 1996- No exceedences were
noted and all sampling was conducted in accordance with the
approved plan. DMR's need to be submitted to DMG.
C : \esc\ea sts ide\970818
