See map HGP-18 for location of water seep
under Harvey Gap dam. A geotechnical well was established
in the alluvium to monitor the groundwater from under the
refuse disposal site. The facility was never built and the well
was reclaimed in 1995. Surface water; Harvey Gap
Reservoir above and below the mine. NPDES Discharge
Points; COG-850019 includes outflow 001 (sediment pond
SP-1) and outflow 002 (sediment pond SP-2). Pond 002 has
not been constructed.
Frequency of Monitoring Ground Water- Water discharged from the mine is
monitored quarterly for estimated flow and field parameters.
One sample is taken yearly of water discharged from the mine
and analyzed for a full suite of chemical parameters and field
parameters noted in Table 9 of the permit. Water seepage
from under Harvey Gap dam is monitored quarterly for
estimated flow, water temperature, pH and specific
conductance.
Surface Water- monitored monthly for estimated flow,
temperature, conductivity and pH. A sample will be obtained
on a semiannual basis and analyzed for the parameters listed
on Table 9.
NPDES Point- will be monitored in accordance with the
permit.
Parameters Monitored See Table 9
