COLORADO. 81416 303-874-7593
7881-1485-Subsidence
October 3, 1985
Mined Land Reclamation Board
42~ Centennial Building
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 8020+
ATTN: Jim Pendleton
REGEiVrgD
OCT
~Mt~l~~ LAND
~ av
RE: Eear Coal Company, Bear Mine No. ~, New Subsidence
points U-8, U-10 and U-11.
On September 4, 1985, Ute was instructed to attempt to set
three new Subsidence Monitoring Sations. Stations U-10 and U-
11 were to be set regardless, and U-8 was desired if
practical. Coordinates were given for the preferred location
of the stations as follows:
Station
U-8
U-10
U-I1
X Y
402,030 1,441,820
402,400 1,440,864
401,900 1,441,080
Wvrk was sorted to set the stations. We were interucted and
delayed several times due to rain. The roads into the area
are from the south in the Minnesota Creek Drainage. Even a
small amount of rain requires the use of chains which tears
up the roads.
Allowing for weather did cast several days, however we have
set and established coordinates on the three new stations.
In addition, we monitored U-2, U-7 and U-9. Paint U-2 falls
within the 25 degree angle from the active mined section.
Paint U-9 is approximately 30 degrees, so we monitored it
also. Results of monitoring U-2 and U-9 will be submitted in
a separate letter.
The new points U-8, U-10 and U-11 were set as follows (actual
in place coordinates):
Station X
U-8 402,237.4188
U-10 402,420.9882
U-I1 401,405.4091
Y_ Z
1,441,721.192 7~++63,61
1,440,865.017 6774.1+
1,440,865.210 7428.63
