CHRONOLOGICAL HISTORY OF REVEGETATION
• Areas revegetated prior to 2003 at the Seneca II Mitte are shown on the Seneca II 2003 Reclamation Map in the
exhibits section of this report. Chronological History of Revegetation Activities in the 1995 Annual Reclamation
Report, SCC 1996. Areas revegetated during 1997, 1998 and 1999 are shown on drawing 5299-4, 1999 Annual
Reclamation Report. Areas seeded in 2003 aze shown on the Seneca II 2003 Reclamation Map.
SEDIMENTATION POND SURVEYS
SCC is required by Permit C-80-005 to monitor sedimentation ponds for sediment storage capacities. This schedule
provides a sediment yield history and gives advance warning to operations personnel when sediment clean-out work
is required. In accordance with Rule 4.05.9(17), SCC visually inspects each pond a minimum of quarterly each yeaz.
During these inspections, any drastic change in sedimentation storage or sudden increase in a sediment delta at the
inlet to the pond could be detected which would require mitigation.
• Based on the 2003 survey, all sediment ponds have sufficient sediment storage. Additionally, all ponds have been
discharging in compliance with the approved NPDES permit effluent limitations. Yearly sediment delivery estimates
to the ponds are considerably less than originally calculated, especially since the majority of the azeas in these
watersheds have now been reclaimed and revegetated.
See 2003 Annual reclamation report for latest calculated annual sediment deliveries. Following the data shows 2003
surveyed capacities of Seneca II sediment pond:

5
