HG 8 are m /orger part c~a [tire selvtrt¢ aputd <br />Plan bra ate tratnm8 pads for vildGfe atd liratak.." <br />3.3.1 Quarterly Pond Inspections <br />J As the above statement indicates, ponds 003 and HG8 are know watering ponds for wildlife and <br />livestock The CDMG rescinded jurisdiction over the ponds in a letter dated August 18, 1999. A <br />copy of [he CDMG's August 18, 1999 letter u presented in Exhibit 4. Consequently, HGCC no <br />longer has to irsspect the ponds, and there were no inspection events during calendaz yEaz 2000. <br />3.3.2 CDPS Discharge Monitoring <br />In response to the CDMG's findings that Sediment Ponds 003 and HG8 were no longer pan of a <br />mine sediment control system, but are watering ponds for wildlife and livestock, HGCC submitted a <br />request [o [he CDPHE to de-activate the CDPS permit (COG850018). HGOC submitted the Pertnit <br />Termination Form to the Colorado Water Quality Control Division on September 10, 1999. The <br />Water Quality Control Division approved the termination request in a letter to HGCC dated October <br />29, 1999. The tem~ittauon approval is presented in Exhibi[ 2.
