Three of these cells were recapped
upon completion of the work. The fourth was left open in case it is
deemed necessary to haul any reclamation waste to Tailings Pond #4
while reclaiming the remainder of the American Tunnel permit area
in 2006.
Activity at this site consisted of;
1) excavate four cells to hold the settling pond sludge from the
American Tunnel reclamation project. The cap material was
salvaged for replacement after work completion. The material
from the cells was used to extend the NE interior slope. Three
of the cells were capped, at the end of the construction
® season. The fourth was left open to accept any material that
may need to be hauled from the American Tunnel reclamation
project during the 2006 construction season.
2) monitoring and maintenance of the vegetation.
Planned activity for 2006 includes;
1) monitoring and maintenance of the vegetation, including weed
control.
2) Repair any settlement of the three closed cells and close the
fourth cell after it is certain no more material will be
hauled from the American Tunnel reclamation project.
3) grade and complete capping of the extended NE interior slope.
4) seed and mulch the cell area and extended slope area.
OFFICE SETTLING PONDS - Plate No. 3
Activity at this site for 2005 consisted of;
1) monitoring and maintenance of the vegetation.
