September 28, 2005
File No. 00036-002
Division of Minerals & Geology
9. The proposed new disturbance for next year is not shown on the attached map
for two reasons: 1. to continue to show the existing active concrete recycling
operation in that area; and 2. because mining next year may be moved to the
adjacent Ready Mixed Pit No. 1 (M-1985-017). If mining occurs at Bromley
Lakes within Phase 9, the estimated new disturbance will be approximately
twelve acres depending upon market demand and geologic conditions
encountered.
Reclamation except for plantings and construction of an Urban Drainage Flood
Control District was completed for all of Cell No. 1 and approximately 220 acres
were released via AR-002. A "land bridge" remains within the permit boundary
to access Erger's Pond Pit (M-1998-036), which is contiguous to the north. The
land bridge will be mined wet sometime after completion of mining at Erger's
Pond under the separate DMG Permit.
Following successful completion of AR-002 at the end of last calendar year,
DMG staff advised that they planned to recalculate the financial warranty for the
Bromley Lakes Pit and they needed an updated inventory of disturbed areas and
permanent structures. We have attempted to provide sufficient information as
part of this Annual Report with the attached map and air photo to facilitate this
recalculation. If additional information is required, please contact the
undersigned or Mr. Bill Timmons. Highlighted features of significance to
recalculation of the financial warranty at this time include the following:
1. Approximately 1750 LF of fixed conveyor from the land bridge to the
feeder tunnel to the processing plant that will require dismantling and
disposal or sale.
2. The feeder tunnel to the processing plant that will require dismantling
and disposal.
3. Anew one million ton per year processing plant upgraded during January
2005, with associated feeder conveyors that will require dismantling and
disposal or sale.
4. Four small plant, maintenance and processing buildings as shown in the
attached figures that will require demolition. Note that the large
maintenance building is outside the DMG permit boundary on the
contiguous Ready Mixed Concrete batch plant property.
5. Reclamation sloping and grading, seeding and plantings, and installation
of two overflow pipes from Cell No. 2 to Cell No. 1 as shown in the
permit Reclamation Plan Map.
6. Miscellaneous abandoned or presently unused conveyor and equipment
parts in the southwest corner of Phase 9 and within the eastern half of the
wide spot along the land bridge that will require salvage.
