Additional details of the Robinson Tailings Impoundment and tree planting projects are
found in the attached project reports including a portion of the construction report
(Projects #1, #2, and #3). Maps 1 and 2 aze referenced in these reports, and color photos
are provided.
1.2 Mayflower Road Cut Repair
A small badly eroded and very steep azea along the Mayflower Tailings Impoundment
service road was repaired during 2005. This highly visible side-slope area was stabilized,
an up-slope interceptor ditch was constructed, and seeding and transplanting completed.
A detailed reportincluding project photographsis attached.
1.3 Visual Enhancement Reclamation
The visual enhancement reclamation program conducted under TR-11 reclaimed or
partially reclaimed ten smaller mine related disturbances that were within the public
view-shed and were aesthetically unattractive. These azeas included slope
reconfigurations and reclamation within the Storke Yazd area and on E-Dump and F-
Dump. F-Dump, in particular, was a highly visible project that reduced the slope from
approximately 1:1,5 to approximately 2.5:1 and shallower by moving approximately
500,000 cubic yards of material.
Approximately 100 acres from the Storke Yard to the Lime Station at Tenmile Tailings
Impoundment were reclaimed in this program. A report from Michael D. Ellis regazding
these projects is attached as aze a number of azea specific photographs.
1.4 Mayflower Decant Road
Anew decant system is scheduled for construction installation along the west side of the
Mayflower Tailings Impoundment in 2006. The decant system modification is
considered an EPF, and accordingly, relevant documents were submitted to DMG in
February 2006. However, the road to the decants was upgraded in 2005 to allow for the
heavy equipment necessary to construct the decant. Once completed, the 1.39 acres of
roadway were stabilized, fertilized, seeded with the Climax seed mix, and hydromulched.
This small project is noted on Map 1 as an insert.
2.0 Other Activities
2.1 Biosolids
Production of Class A compost and Class B biosolids at the biosolids facility on the
Robinson Tailings Impoundment continued in 2005 as in the past. Production was
ramped up in 2005 to meet the demands of 2005 reclamation projects. Applications were
done by dozer push and by aerial spreading (using a truck mounted blower). The annual
biosolids permit report is attached.
