Energy Fuels Mining Company
Raton Creek Mine
1996 ANNUAL RECLAMATION REPORT
Introduction
The Annual Reclamation Report documents backfilling, grading, topsailing, and seeding
activities conducted by Energy Fuels Mining Company (EFMC) at the Raton Creek Mine
during the 1996 calendaz year. This report includes text, discussion, and a map in accordance
with the requirements of Rule 2.04.13. Raton Creek remained in permanent cessation -
reclamation status during the reporting period.
EFMC performed additional reclamation work at the mine site area during the reporting
period. Reclamation activities involved revegetation of the mine site. Detailed information
about the 1996 reclamation work is discussed below.
Disturbed Areas
No additional acreage was disturbed during the reporting period.
Backfilled and Graded Areas
No areas were backfilled and graded during the reporting period.
Tonsoiled Areas
No areas were topsoiled during the reporting period.
Revepetated Areas
EFMC reseeded two areas at the mine site, shown oo the accompanying 1996 Annual
Reclamation Map, as follows:
1. Refuse pile bench area (Map Area 'A')
EFMC reseeded the flat bench area of the refuse pile comprising an area of approximately
3.1 acres during May. The decision to reseed this azea was based on the apparent lack of
crimped mulch, and the compacted appearance of the topsoil on approximately 30 percent of
the area.
Prior to seeding, EFMC scarified the entire area to a depth of approximately 18 inches along
the contour. The approved seed mixture was broadcast over the area at a rate of
approximately 25.2 lbs PLS per acre. Information about the seed mixture is shown on
attached Table 2, Seed Specifications. As a final step, 2 tons of stew mulch per acre was
applied to the area and crimped with a disc.
