• GROUND WATER MONITORING
Quarterly water samples are collected at monitoring wells AA-1 and AA-3 using a
hand bailer. The results of groundwater data collected during 1999 and pertinent water
quality parameters are found below. Depth to water is measured from the top of the
steel casing on AA-1 and top of the 2-inch PVC pipe for AA-3. The location of the
alluvial wells can be found on map, "Figure 11", in Appendix A. Graphs and well
completion diagrams are presented in Appendix B.
Monitoring well AA-1 was destroyed by the November 1997 slide and has not
been replaced.
Monitoring Well AA-7:
Quarter Date pH
su Temp °C Depth
feet Cond.
umhos/cm Oil or
Grease
1S` Destroyed by Slide
2nd Not Replaced
3~a
4`h
Monitoring Well AA-3:
Quarter Date pH
su Temp °C Depth
feet Cond.
umhos/cm Oil or
Grease
15`
2nd 7/12/99 6.8 Note
3`d 8/23/99 7.4 15.5 8.0 720 None
4'h 12/06/99 7.6 8.8 8.7 640 None
Findings:
AA-1 No laboratory results are available for AA-1 since this well was destroyed in
November 1997 and laboratory samples are typically collected in December.
AA-3 The field parameters for this well are similar to historic averages. Not enough
water was available in AA-3 to perform full suite analysis for the 4'" quarter 1999.
First quarter monitoring was inadvertently omitted from sampling this year.
Note -Not enough water to take field parameters during second quarter.
-2-
