exhibited a decrease is water levels. Wells WdV4-1 and 4-2 are is the proposed •
II-W South ExDaaeioa area. Monitoring nt these two walla was resumed in 1997
after being discontinued in 1985.
- Wedge Coal. The six Wedge coal wells monitored exhibit the same typical
seasonal variations ae the previous aquifers discussed. Due to low aquifer
tranemieeivitiee (range 0.07 to 0.36 £tZ/day), water sampling may meek normal
water level fluctuations. Wells WW3, WW4, 14 and 17 all exhibit as increase in
water levels over the Daet several yenra. Wells WW16 and 18 have recently
displayed decreasing water levels.
- Wolf Creek Coal. walla WWC3 sad WWC4 both exhibit on increase is water levels
over the yeat several years. Water lavala at Well WWC17 decreased this year
after several years of increase.
Ground Water Level Sum mary. Moat aquifers at Seneca II-W exhibit a typical
seasonal fluctuation. Water levels are highest after the eyriag runoff, which
recharges the aquifer. O£tea, bedrock aqulfar s exhibit a lag time between •

eDriag runoff sad highest water levels. Water levels than decrease ee late
summer or fall approaches.
Water Quality. Table 3, Summary of Ground water Monitoring Walla, describes the
wells that ware eamylafl, the saa~le frequency during this year, sad Bite
characterietice. Table 4 shows the grauad water parameter list used for all
walla. Analyses have bean performed by ACZ Laboratory in steamboat syringe,
Colorado since May 31, 1983. ACZ Laboratory performs all analyses by EPA or
equivalent methods. Samples nre delivered the day of collection to the lab in
an iced cooler. Monitoring frequencies £or groua8 water quality may be found is
ApDeadix 15-3a of the Seneca II-W PAP.
The following discussion of the analytical datn collected during the reyorting
period ie arranged by strata being monitored and coincides with the format (by
aquifer type) in which the analytical data are presented Sa ADDandix D. The
following discussion of water quality will limit itself to a deecriDtion of
total dissolved eolida (TDS). A separate section, Comparison of Ground Water •
4
