• Qunlity to Water Dee Standards, will list those eamplea that exceed water use
standards.
Data for each well is ADDendix D begins with a listing of the water quality data
collecta8 during this year, followed by remarks explaining the sampling
procedure. After the remarks is a statistic report representing baseline (i.e.,
preminiag) data for each wall (when available). Oa this statistics report,
"ceaeored data^ refers to analytical values that were below the 8atactioa limit,
which were ceaeored from the min/max/mean calculations. The time frame for
baseline conditions ie listed wader 'conditions spec ifled^ at the bottom of each
page. This ie followed by a plot of TDS versus time for the entire period of
record. The regreeaioa line oa this Dlot is generated by a method known as
LOW8S5 (Locally Weighted Scatter plot 8moothiag). A amootbnaee factor of 1 (on
a scale of 0 to 1) was used, which gives maximum smoothing. Finally, this plot
is followed by a table listing historic TDS values and percent milliequivaleate
for major ions.
• - Alluvium. Three wells monitor the 8ubbaraoa Gulch alluvium. Well WHALE-2 is
upstream of mine discharges. Its TD9 Dlot shows a slightly increasing trend.
This is likely due to the fact that this pasture has been irrignted starting is
1989. Well W8AL7-2 exists oa Hubbereoa Ouleh downstream of mine diachnrgee from
NPDE9 006. Its TDS plot shows a slightly iaereasiag tread. well WHAL10 exists
oa 006 Gulch (a Hubberaoa Gulch tributary) below NPDBS 006. TDS values at this
wall display an iaereaeing tread.
Gee well moaieora the 005 Gulch nlluvium (tributary to Dry Creek). This well,
WDAL11, ie normally dry.
Throe walla monitor the Saga Creek nlluvium. well WSAL12, located oa Saga Creek
adieceae to Surface Water Sites SW-52-FGd, ie downstream of ell Dotential mine
discharges. TDS values at this well have been increasing since it was drilled
in 1990. wall WSAL13 ie located below NPDE9 009 on the northern Sage Creek
tributary (this NPDES site, constructed is 1991, started flowing for the Eirst
time ever is 1996). Thies well disDlaye as increasing TD3 tread. Well WSAL14
• exists on the southern Sage Creek tributary below NPDES 015 (constructed is
August 1999, first Elow February, 2000). Monitoring was resumed at this well in
5
