MINED LAND RECLAMATION BOARD 110(2) ANNUAL REPORT
For Season 2006
CRYSTALJACK MINING
PERMIT NO. M-1993-030
Prepared: 17 Apri12007
Submitted: 10 June 2007
Summary:
Mechanized equipment was operated on the Crystaljack mining properties from 7 July
through 17 July to recover amazonite, smoky quartz, fluorite, goethite, and other crystals.
Work continued on Site 14 and resumed at Site 5 on the Qui-Buc No. 1 claim. Two
prospects were also opened and closed. A small azea at Site 5 remained open at season
close. All other sites were refilled, re-contoured and reseeded.
Chris Rowe of the Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety conducted an inspection
of sites on the Two Point claim in May. The U.S.F.S. also conducted inspections. An
environmental assessment covering these claims was approved by the U.S.F.S. in June.
Map Depicting_Operations:
Attached aze maps showing the ten claims covered under this permit, permit M-1993-
030. The maps show past excavations which have been reclaimed (green), currently open
dig sites (shaded orange) and proposed dig sites (either a blue button or a rectangle).
Current Disturbances (20061:
Two excavation sites, Site 14 and Site 5 on Qui-Buc No. 1 were worked during 2006.
Site 14 was opened to approximately 0.05 acre and then refilled and reclaimed. Site 5
was opened approximately 0.04 acre additional to the current disturbance. This site
remains open for future operations. Two test pits were opened, 016 and 017 for a total of
0.08 acre. Both were filled, reclaimed and reseeded.
All of Site 1 and 2 were reclaimed during 2006, re-contoured and reseeded.
Reclamation Accomplished to Date:
Since this project began in 1993, approximately 2.83 acres have been excavated and
reclaimed. These areas have been reseeded and planted with trees. Of this, only 0.45
acre that was reclaimed during 2006 has less than 80 percent growth. The remaining
reclaimed acreage has over 80 percent growth.
A small test pit at Site 5 of about 1,600 squaze feet on Qui-Buc No. 1 remains open for
future operations. All other disturbances have been reclaimed.
