Revegetation was undertaken on the North Pit, North Pit Haul Road, Topsoil Stockpile <br />#2, areas within the Previously Reclaimed Spoils Area, Carbon Junction Canyon <br />reconstruction, South Pit Drill Pad, Equipment Yazd, and ancillary areas during 2006. <br />fj. Permanent revegetation as described in the mining and reclamation plan has occurced <br />at the Carbon Junction Mine at all disturbed areas of the mine slated for revegetation with <br />the exception of the sediment ponds and remaining topsoil stockpiles. <br />Additional Information <br />The following CDRMS permitting actions or revisions were undertaken in 2006. <br />Technical Revision 13 <br />This TR comprised a revision to the reclamation cost estimate for remaining reclamation <br />liability at the Cazbon Junction Mine. The TR was approved on September 7, 2006. <br />Technical Revision 14 <br />Technical Revision ]4 was submitted to provide a small area exemption demonstration for <br />the south half of the reclaimed North Pit at the mine. The TR was submitted December <br />1Q 2006 and found complete by the Division on December 22, 2006. A response to initial <br />Division adequacy comments is in preparation currently. <br />Phase I Bond Release Application (SIr03) <br />On August 25, 2006 an application for Phase I bond release was submitted to CDRMS. <br />Final backfilling, regrading, drainage control, topsoiling, and revegetation of the North <br />Pit, North Pit Haul Road, Topsoil Stockpile #2, areas within the Previously Reclaimed <br />Spoils Area, South Pit Drill Pad, Equipment Yazd, and ancillary areas was accomplished <br />between April and July 2006, making these areas eligible for Phase I as addressed in CRS <br />34-33-IZS(9xa} and Rule 3.03.1(2)(a). The Division found the application complete and <br />conducted the on-site bond release inspection on November 7, 2006. A technical adequacy <br />review was issued by the Division on January 5, 2007. The bond release is pending. <br />Disturbed Acreage <br />The amount of disturbed acreage at the mine after SL-02 and prior to this year's final <br />reclamation activities was 37.61 acres, with 9.15 acres in pits, spoil, and stripped areas, <br />and 28.46 acres in ancillary disturbance. In 2006, a total of 25.67 acres of disturbance was <br />reclaimed to final configuration.
