• 1988. The mean weekly flows for the 008 site are:
1992 WY (Water Yeer) = 0.132 cfs
1991 WY = 0.112 cfs
1990 WY = 0.067 cfs
1989 WY = 0.108 cfs
1988 WY = 0.104 (reservoir did not completely fill until February 25,
1988).
Review of the hydrograph end the above table shows that discharges have increased since
1990. This is due to an increase in annual precipitation values and an increase in flow
from Spoil Spring pt.
Review of Table 15 (Appendix A) shows that water at the 008 site is a MgCa-504 type. Data
for Site 9 is also supplied on this table to provide baseline data for comparison. Water
previously sampled at Site 9 was a CaMg-HC03 type. The construction of Pond 008 and
subsequent mining activities above have resulted in increased TDS and sulfate in
comparison to baseline water quality measured at Site 9.
• l
For NPDES 006, TDS and sulfate values have been pl tad on o and
ne graph, manganese (tota
dissolved) on a second, end zinc on a third (see Appendix H). As with Site b, TDS and
sulfate are increasing with time, vary seasonally end vary dependently ui th each other.
Manganese values vary seasonally with the highest values occurring in the spring. No
longer term discernible trend is apparent. Zinc values vary seasonally. A slight upward
trend of zinc values is apparent.
Surface Water Site SW•S2.12. This site was instituted in Nay, 1987, and monitors Bond
Creek at its confluence with Fish Creek. It is monitored May through September on a
monthly basis. ps was noted also at the lower Cow Lamp Creek Site 10, this site flows
less often than the upper Bond Creek site, NPDES 008. Flow was observed at Site 12 only
during the May and June visits. In May, flow et Site 12 was 20 percent of that observed
at NPDES 008. In June, flow at Site 12 was 9.5 percent of that observed at NPDES 008.
These flow decreases are due to evapotranspiration and infiltration losses.
Water et Site 12 during the 1992 Water Year was a MgC aN a-504 type (see Table 17, Appendix
• A). A significant increase of TDS from that observed at upper Bond Creek again indicates
[he alkaline and saline nature of Tuentymile Park. Stock reservoirs also exist along Bond
15
