iii iiiiiiiiiiiu iii
999
Mined Land Reclamation
July 23, 1979
Page 2
Our plan still remains to progress to a sequential restoration on the property
in accordance with the plan depicted on the topographical map submitted with
this annual report. We have reshaped additional berms along the south end of
the property and will re-seed at the conclusion of warmer weather. Topsoil is
presently on these berms and should establish seed readily.
Final Benches
The final benches and the restoration thereof are, of course, some years away yet.
Fugitive dust
We feel we are presently using sufficient water, along with proper spray bar
equipment in efforts to comply with dust emission standards. An additional water
surge tank is presently being added to reinforce water capabilities.
Roads
All back slopes have been seeded and the establishment appears to be successful.
The roadtop surfaces have been watered and oiled to prevent dust.
East berm
This berm has been enlarged and continues to show evidences of natural vegetation
which has established itself. The seed is progressing satisfactorily as well.
This berm not only serves aesthetic functions, but prevents potential surface
water from draining in an uncontrolled manner.
We shall, in the future as we have in the past, continue to update our performance
concerning land stabilization and reclamation.
We feel the approved reclamation plan is progressing satisfactorily and according
to the timetable approved in the original application.
Listed below is additional information:
1. Location and numbers of acres affected this year:
SE ;, NE 4, EZ, SEZ of Sec. 5, T 3 S., R 70 W, and SW;, NW;, and Wz> SW ;, Sec. 4,
T 3 S, R 70 W., Jefferson County.
61 total acres, 5 operating.
2. Number acres reclaimed this year:
Surface areas reclaimed five, all seeded.
3. Number of acres in various stages of reclamation:
Acres backfilled: 5
Acres graded: 5
Topsoil acres replaced: 5
Acres revegetated: 5 surface area
lZ berms and backslopes
