ORCHARD VALLEY MINE
QUARTERLY WASTE DISPOSALAREA INSPECTION REPORT
NEW WEST RIDGE PILE
Item Y/N Comments
12. Topsoil adequately salvaged and stored? Y Outslope topsoil on the eastern and southern faces of
the gob pile was dozed downslope and stored on the
drainage bench below. From 12 to l3 feet (vertical
height) of topsoil was removed from [he pile. Outslope
subsoil from these faces was also removed and stockpile
in an approved location.
13. Trash removed? Y
14. Additional comments? N
During the fourth quarter, 1991, gob salvage operations continued through the end of October. At that point, gob
shipments were idled due to inclement weather conditions. Approximately half of the gab material exposed was
shipped before operations were idled. During the following weeks, the Nucla power plant was idled for scheduled
maintenance. Subsequent developments resulted in the continued shutdown of the plant throughout the remainder
of the fourth quarter. Future coal requirements at the plant are uncertain at this time but the potential for continued
gob shipment this spring remains viable.
I certify the above report as being accurate to the best of my belief and knowledge.
Signature
•,,_
~.~, ~ r
Date
