2005 Subsidence and Geologic Field Observations <br />l3ox Canyon, West Flatiron, Apache Rocks, <br />and South of Divide Mining Areas <br />4.0 80X CANYON, WEST FLATIRON, AND APACHE ROCKS <br />4.1 Traverse A-A' <br />This foot traverse begins at Highway 133, thence eastward on the south side of the North Fork of <br />the Gunnison River (North Fork) along an old drill road and trails, and thence southward along <br />Raven Gulch. <br />The traverse eastward along the south side of the North Fork and southward up Raven Gulch to <br />Location I was in thick colluvium of the Barren Member of the Mesaverde Formation (clay, silt, <br />sand, and local boulders) and minor amounts of Wasatch clay. <br />4.1.1 Location 1 <br />Location 1 is located near the mouth of Raven Gulch in the first extensive exposure of colluvium <br />and alluvium. The GPS location is 291,960m E, 4,311,816m N (UTM coordinates NAD 1983, <br />circle of error 3-9m). Raven Gulch was flowing a few cubic feet per second (estimated to range <br />' from 2 to 4 cfs) (Figure 1).
