4. SEDIMENT PONDS
A. NPDES Ouarterly ReUOrts
All sediment pond discharges were sampled and monitoring
data was reported to the appropriate State and Federal
agencies. Copies of the quarterly monitoring reports are
found in Exhibit 6.
B. 4uarterly Insuections
The quarterly inspection reports are found in Exhibit 7.
All the inspection reports indicate there are no problems
with any pond.
C. Sediment Survey
During 1992 detailed topographic surveys of all sediment
ponds were performed by an independent surveying company.
The results of the surveys indicate that all ponds, both
at the minesite and at the loadout, have adequate
sediment storage capacity available.
During 1991, TR-60 to Modify Sediment Control Structures,
was approved by CMLRD. The SEDCAD sizing for Explosives
Storage Point 001, Landfill Point 002, and Shop/Office
Point 003, showed that both the runoff volume and the
sediment delivered to each pond is zero. Therefore,
adequate sediment storage for these three ponds is
guaranteed.
A volumetric summary for sediment volumes in each pond
follows:
•
4
