SUBJECT: 2006 ANNUAL REPORT FOR M-1990-025 (HAY CAMP PIT)
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen:
Enclosed is the Annual Report form for the Hay Camp Pit, M-1990.025, for the reporting year
ending May 22, 2006, with a map. The annual fee has been submitted separately. This is the
fourth report showing the permit area as revised in 2002, incorporating both the Four States
Aggregates (4SA) operation and the Montezuma County operations. Since June 2005, mining
has continued. Due to much better winter preciptaton than in previous years, operations were
interrupted for a goodly portion of the winter, and other projects took priority. There was no
expansion done during the 2005-2006 period; the area (at the extreme north) of 13.5 acres
which we proposed to disturb in 2004-2005 was not in fact affected during this reporting period.
The increase in spring and winter precipitation has helped reclamation significantly, even though
summer conditions delayed our request for reclamation release on 26.3 acres as planned in
2005. A small area reclaimed (but not yet released) was disturbed as part of work done to
improve roads and reduce traffic times. However, accompanying this report is a request for
reclamation release of 31.3 acres in four areas in the eastern part of the permit area. In
addition, have an additional 15.4 acres in the same area that should be ready for reclamation
release in the Spring of 2007. That leaves a single area of 0.4 acres in the eastern part of the
permit area, which is being used for storage of equipment.
Previously released reclaimed areas remain in good condition, although weed control is still a
critical concern to the landowner and the operators.
