Evans Mined Land Reclamation 423 Centennial Building 1313 Sherman Street Denver, CO 80203 RE: Annual Report, File # 77-319, Swallow Pit Dear Mr. Evans: Since our phone conversation of this date, will attempt to set down the following facts: ore usage 1977-78 6163 tons 1978-79 6832 1979-80 4149 1980-81 2517 We have worked aprox. 20 feet on the north face to a depth equalling the previously existing quarry floor. Overburden has been romoved and stockpiled. Actual topsoil had been removed from this area prior to 1958 when Persolite Products, Inc. , became involved at the site. Roadways remain the same, there are no buildings or processing equipment. No water has been used or removed. Our consumption has not been as great as anticipated, due to energy costs. Perlite from the Swallow Pit consumes more fuel, therefore, more low temperature ore has been purchased from .kntonito, Colorado than was previously planned. No reclamation has been attempted at this time as it would block our access to present workings. Mr. Steiner would be happy to accompany your inspector to the quarry site if desired.
