All surface water stations were inspected and recorded weekly as per
the terms and conditions of the permit, These inspections and recordings identified
readings at RS-1, RS-2, RS-3 and RS-5 of zero (0) inches and RS-4 and RS-6 were dry.
The monthly precipitation accumulation for August was 0.2 inches. Rito Seco Creek
remains well below historic flow conditions for this time of year.
Vacuum on the tailing ]ysimeters was verified on August 28`h, no water was present for
sampling and subsequent analysis.
Depths to water were collected for the tailing impoundment main embankment and West
Pit piezometers/monitoring wells on August 28"'. The August 28`h tailing impoundment
piezometer measurements identified these installations were either dry or contained less
than 12 inches of water. Table i below identifies the depth to water measurements
collected for each of the site monitoring wells, piezometers and lysimeters.
The tailing impoundment collection pond underdrain flow and leak detection systems
were measured on August 30`h. The collection pond underdrain flow was approximately
46.37 gpm and a total of 510 gallons of water were evacuated from the leak detection
system yielding a monthly average of 17 gpad.'
The West Pit water treatment plant operated efficiently discharging a total of 8,903,200
gallons (27.32 acre-feet) of water to Rito Seco Creek during the month, a total of 997,400
gallons (3.06 acre-feet) of water was transferred from the water treatment plant to the
P.O.
