Fefm,ary 7999 HC C'.cvl Cmgrorv ' 1998 Arvuc~l Redrornam Repm ~ !'a,(e 4
3.0 RECLAMATION
The reclaimed highwall area earthen slump was stabilized and revegetated during 1998. Drawing 1,
Mine Site Reclamation Sequencing, shows the location of the slump azea. HGCC submitted a minor
revision request for the slump mitigation work to CDMG on March 27, 1998. CDMG approved the
minor revision request as MR-13 on May 13, 1998. Two french drains were installed [o intercept
subsurface flow and minimize the infiltration of water along the contact between bedrock and
reclaimed spoils. Two slot drains were also installed to drain any water that collected within the
slump. HGCC also re-graded portions of the slump surface to minimize infiltration of water and
provide positive drainage away from the area. The locations of the drainage structures are shown on
Figure 1, Slump Area Mitigation Map. An as-built report a~mmariv'ng the mitigation work is
presented in Exhibit 2, Slump Area Mitigation.
Following completion of the stabilization activities, the slump area was then re-seeded with the seed
mix[ure presented in Table E-1.1.
Previous reclamation of various disturbance parcels at the mine site is shown on Drawing 1, Mine Site
Reclamation Sequencing.
•
•
Morugnery Watm'P.O.
