FeUnmry 1999 NG Cml Cm+{mry " 1998 Aroaxa! Redm+rotim~ Relent ~ Pare 3
2.0 REVEGETATION
The entire reclaimed mine site was surveyed for vegetative cover, species diversity, productivity and
woody plant density during August 1996 and then again during August 1997. The results of both
vegetation surveys were presented in the Hayden Guld~ Mirle Phase ///Phase 1// Bon[l Reease Appluatim
(TerraMatrix/Montgomery Watson, 1998). The data indicates that the reclaimed mine area meets the
required statistical revegetation success criteria for all cover, production and shrub density parameters.
In a transmittal dated June 8, 1998, the CDMG indicated that the information presented in the Ha}rb7
Guld~ Mine Phase II/Phase 11/ Bowl Release Applirnticn demonstrated that the revegetation success
standards for herbaceous production, vegetation cover, species diversity and woody plant density have
been achieved for the bond release block.
As part of Technical Revision No. 62 (TR-62), HGTI and CDMG established a shrub density
standard of 750 stems per acre Eor the four shrub augmentation parcels. A woody stem count of the
shrub augmentation areas was conduced during June 1998. The shrub density in the four parcels was
greater than the 750 stems per acre shrub density standard.
•
•
Mcnugnxry Waum "R.O.
