Annual Hydrologic Report
• Page Five
Ground Water
The ground water monitoring points on Cottonwood and Rapid Creeks
were monitored twice during the year. Results of the monitoring
are listed on data page GA-1. Diagrams G92-1 thru 6 have shown a
hydrograph of each location since monitoring began in 1984.
Excluding the elevation difference for the top of the pipe at
GWMS-O1 the two wells show a close pattern of seasonal variation
which may indicate a uniform sandy material for the alluvial
material. At GWMS-02 the seasonal variations are much less
pronounced for 02A which is developed at the base of the alluvial
material than 02B which is developed the full length. The
different variations may indicate a less permiable layer of
material in the alluvial material. At 03 the seasonal variations
showed a close pattern for part of the period and different
patterns for part of the period. Diagram G92-7 thru 9 is an
attempt to correlate flow in the creek with the water level in
"adjacent" piezometers.
Piezometers at the Cameo Refuse Disposal Areas (CRDA) No. 1 and
No. 2 continued to be monitored for water level on a quarterly
basis. The results of monitoring are listed on page GC-2.
• Diagrams G92-10 thru G92-12 show depth of water on piezometer O1
thru 03. Breaks in these graphs indicate no measurable water
level. The water level in 01 showed similar levels to the
previous 2 years with slight seasonal variation. The water level
of 02 remained at or below the bottom of the piezometer again
similar to the previous 2 years. The water level in 03 was near
or below the bottom of the piezometer. Piezometer OlA was added
to the CRDA No. 1 to monitor the water level south east of O1.
it was installed to a depth of 50 or 5' below the bottom of the
refuse. This piezometer showed a similar seasonal variation to
the other piezometers. Three piezometers were installed at CRDA
No. 2 in October 1991. Each was installed to a point 5' below
the bottom of the refuse. The installed depths are: 04-33.7',
05-34.6' and 06-33.8'. Only piezometer 05 showed water during
the year and it was below the bottom of the refuse.
Monitoring of the UTL Piezometers was not done this year but
previous information was graphed as Diagrams G92-13 thru 16. The
information taken from 1984 - 1987 showed seasonal variation
consistant with flow in the river. All 4 piezometers showed
lower levels in 1987 when the river flow was below normal than in
the previous 3 years when it was above normal.
Mine Water
The annual mine inflows studies of the Roadside and Cameo No. 1
. Mines were done in September. The results of the studies are
shown in Tables M92-1 and 4. A summary of past flow and
conductivity shown on Table M92-2, 3, 5 and 6. Inflow locations
are shown on
