Annual Hydrologic Report
• Page Two
solids readings. Diagram 592-2 was prepared with the same
information as 592-1 except that a high reading in 1979 was
excluded. Note that the readings above and below the mine site
were normally close to each other.
Flows measured in Cottonwood and Rapid Creeks were generally
below normal but they were generally higher than the previous 3
years' flows. The format for submitting this years' data is
different than in previous AHR's. Flow information has been
recompiled since 1985 and is being submitted as data pages and
accompanying graphs in the data section of the AHR book. Data
and graphs for this year are contained on data pages SG-11, 13
and 14; SH-11, 13 and 14; and SI 11, 13 and 14. Summary graphs
of flows since 1985 are given on Diagrams 592-3 thru 5. As in
the past, correlation between years and between the upper flumes,
02 and 03, and their combined flow at the lower flume, O1, is
nearly impossible. The Town of Palisade continues to control
flows relative to their domestic water needs and irrigation water
is removed at various locations depending on the call for water.
The following is a listing of the average monthly flows (CFS) in
these creeks during the most critical irrigation months, July -
October:
•
SWGS-O1
Water Year October July August September
1985 3.64 - - -
1986 - 6.10 - -
1987 - 2.70 2.31 1.27
1988 1.90 1.71 1.06 1.68
1989 1.80 0.88 0.80 <0.56
1990 0.71 <0.73 <0.72 <0.70
1991 <0.92 <1.24 <0.56 <0.60
1992 <0.84 1.67 1.02 1.06
SWGS-02
Water Year October July August September
1985 0.81 0.65 1.00 0.48
1986 0.79 1.02 0.46 0.53
1987 0.74 1.02 0.57 0.48
1988 0.53 0.44 0.32 0.39
1989 0.38 <0.26 <0.26 <0.26
1990 <0.26 <0.26 <0.26 <0.26
1991 - <0.26 <0.26 <0.26
1992 <0.26 <0.38 <0.26 <0.28
•
