First, over the past 3 years we have raised rainbow trout with tremendous results. Our success is due mainly to a flow of spring water which surfaces on our property. Our property has two ponds bordering the Mancos River on the South. The spring water passes thru four earthen raceways for raising trout then enters the upper pond, which is approximately one acre in size. The water then spills directly into the lower pond which is about one half of an acre. Surface tailwater is diverted "from the spring water" at three different locations, water quality in the fishery is of great importance.
