<br />1981 <br />ANNUAL REPORT <br />PIKEVIEW QUARRY <br />77-211 <br />ANNIVERSARY DATE: MAY 27 <br />- , ' 'J <br />,. .; 2:, 131 <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION - The Pikeview Quarry is a large limestone <br />quarry north of Colorado Springs. The quarry was the primary <br />source of material for construction of the Air Force Academy. <br />The quarry was not reclaimed after it was mined by former <br />operators and remained in a state of low activity until <br />Castle Concrete assumed the operation. Castle Concrete <br />anticipates the quarry will be a very long-lived one. It <br />will not be completed until well into the next century. <br />The format for this annual report follows Rule 2.41. <br />Rule 2.41(1): During the last year areas affected by various <br />aspects of the operation were in Tracts A, A-1, and C. <br />Nothing was affected in Tract B. Precise acreages are not <br />available but the following list gives close estimates. For <br />locations of these areas please refer to the map. <br />Tract A 9 acres <br />Tract A-1 15 acres <br />Tract B 0 acres <br />Tract C 17 acres <br />Wilson Tract 5 acres <br />46 acres <br />The following is a description of the activities that occurred <br />in each tract: <br />Page 1 of 6 <br />
