MINREC, INC. ANNUAL HYDROLOGY REPORT PAGE 3
The following table presents arithmetic averages of flow and quality measurements taken
at Outfall 001. Outfall 001 is the discharge point for the passive water treatment system.
As of August 11, 1995, the discharge from Outfall 001 is the combined discharge from the
No. 1 and No. 3 Mines.
OUTFACE 001 -QUALITY
YEAR Flow Max Flow Ave H COND TDS IRON
1989 43.0 16.5 7.9 3598 2512 1.51
1990 30.0 17.0 8.1 3157 2129 1.16
1991 30.3 20.1 8.1 2890 2018 1.28
1992 27.7 19.3 8.0 2722 1805 0.72
1993 27.9 22.4 7.9 2643 1738 0.54
1994 21.6 21.2 7.6 2627 1710 0.52
1995 75.2* 32.5 7.8 2435 1663 0.17
1996 54.8 36.8 7.8 2082 1441 0.15
1997 107.0 52.0 7.6 2083 1424 0.20
1998 160.0 69.0 7.5 1819 1409 0.30
1999 60.0 42.1 7.5 1613 1408 0.19
2000 49.2 36.8 8.1 1924 1329 0.09
2001 30.0 25.5 8.1 1884 1376 0.09
2002 25.0 22.4 7.9 1907 1388 0.07
2003 22.0 17.2 8.2 1944 1346 0.03
2004 25.0 17.2 8.2 1970 1399 0.02
2005 17.0 14.9 8.0 1929 1321 0.03
* Flow from No. 1 Mine and No. 3 Mine combined.
The units for the figures in the above table are; flow (gpm), pH (standard units);
conductivity (umhos/cm); total dissolved solids (mg/I) and iron (mg/I). Iron was measured
as total recoverable until April 1994 when the Colorado Department of Public Health and
Environment changed the discharge permit to require iron to be measured as potentially
dissolved.
SPECIAL ANALYSIS
None
