Mr. Joseph Dudash - 3 - April 25, 2001
The footnote has been added to Table 1.
6. The Fire Mountain Canal hydrologic data on monitoring point fable pages 73 and 74
show field parameters for Mav and October. The required field data for July is missing.
Please explain.
The monitoring event was inadvertently overlooked during the bereavement of a
technician.
On Map 9 of the 1999 AHR, there is a stock pond symbol, located next to spring 5-16 in
Section 4, without any annotation. It appears that this is stock pond P-3. Please add the
appropriate annotation to Map 9.
The appropriate annotation has been added to the map.
8. In Table 1 of the 1999 AHR, the comment for each of the ponds states that the pond will
be "monitored if the pond is discharging. " The permit text does not mention anything
about monitoring only if a pond is discharging. The approved field parameters are
inflow, ou~ow and water level in the pond. Inflow and water level can be measured if
the pond is not discharging. If you agree, please revise the comments accordingly. If
yott don't agree, please explain why.
The comment has been revised.
9. Table 1 of the 1999 AHR lists S-!8 as a spring monitoring point. 5-18 also appears on
Map 9 of the 1999 AHR. However, spring 5-18 does nor appear in the list of spring
monitoring points, found on page 1.05-79 of the permit application. Please revise page
2.05-79 to add 5-18 to the list of spring monitoring points.
Spring 5-18 has been added to page 2.05-79 of the permit application, and this page is
included with this correspondence.
10. In Table 1 of the 1999 AHR, and on page 2.05-76 ojthe permit application, spring 5-18
is to be sampled quarterly for freld and full suite parameters. However, on monitoring
point table page 9 of the 1999 AHR, spring 5-18 was apparently visited semi-annually.
Please explain.
Spring 5-18 and Pond P-6 aze difftcult to fmd. These points were found eazly in 1999 and
reported. Another technician could not find, although a diligent search was made, until
the fall monitoring cycle. These points will now be monitored quarterly.
. 11. On monitoring point table page 60 of the 1999 AHR, no fourth quarter full suite
