This report covers the time period between April 1, 2006 and
March 31, 2007.
Reportable Conditions:
Amendment No. 8 site preparation and development activities continued in the Main
Cresson, East Cresson (Altman and Wildhorse areas), and South Cresson Mine areas.
A Technical Revision (TR) was submitted to and approved by the Division of
Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DBMS) for the Phase IVc Valley Leach Facility (VLF)
Solution Management Enhancement and revisions to topsoil stockpile locations (TR-
47). The TR-47 request included an engineering letter report prepared by Golder and
Associates and documentation of 375 feet of additional six-inch perforated perimeter
drain lines along the outer perimeter of the VLF liner in the area where extensions to the
tertiary solution collection system of the Phase IVc VLF were documented in Technical
Revision 46. This additional perimeter drain will further enhance percolation and
improve solution movement near the edge-of liner in the Phase IVc area.
In addition, CC&V provided an updated Drawing C-4 (Proposed facilities- Overburden
and Mines, as described in Amendment No. 8) to address minor changes in topsoil
stockpile locations within the Amendment No. 8 permitted area. Approximately 13.1
acres of revised topsoil stockpile locations were proposed; of which, 5.1 acres represent
new disturbance.
