~ RECEIVED h1AY 1 6 ~gg,~
ENERGY FUELS COAL, INC.
SOUTHFIELD MINE
P.O. BOX 449
FLORENCE, COLORADO 81226
QUARTERLY INSPECTION REPORT
COAL PROCESSING WASTE BANKS
Date of Inspection: May 9, 1994
Waste Bank Identification:
Waste Bank Location:
Primary Refuse Disposal Area
Sec. 30, T205, R69W, 6th P.M.
Fremont County, Colorado
Comments: The coal processing waste bank was visually inspected
and found to be in general compliance with the CMLRD approved
Reconstruction Plan for the Coal Processing Waste Bank. The
topsoiled and planted areas of the waste bank exhibit good plant
growth. Minor water ponding was observed along the West side of
the waste bank. The top of the waste bank was not accessible due
to inclement weather and muddy access roads.
Recommendations: Variation in the characteristics of the coarse
and fine refuse materials are to be expected, depending on changes
in the mine geology and mining practices. The fine material should
be sampled and tested to identify an acceptable range of plasticity
characteristics. When high clay content material is encountered in
the mining operations, it should be sampled and compared with this
range, with selective placement of high plasticity materials in the
pile to avoid adverse stability impacts.
Inspected by: David J.
