Bill Carter
Page 3
November 6, 1997
The 1996 report includes a schedule of proposed 1997 subsidence monitoring. The approved
permit application calls for BRL to submit in each year's subsidence report the proposed
monitoring plan fur the following year. As I am not qualified to do so, l did not review the
proposed plan for adequacy, so someone should probably do [his fairly quickly.
1995 Subsidence Report
The survey crew, which was newly contracted, had difficulty locating the structures at the Gross-
Rhode Ranch. Station 97 was no[ monitored because it could no[ be found. Stations 94, 96, and
98 were apparently located incorrectly, because the elevations reported are 0.54 to 1.54 feet
above historic elevations. As noted above, you might have more information on what was
decided on these. If not, we should definitely look into this.
The Pitkin Mesa pipeline was surveyed in June and October. The time interval was appropriate,
and all but one of the required sites were monitored. The data for station PL#5 indicates the
point was "not tied in this survey' for June.
Should you or [he operator have questions or need additional information regarding my review,
please le[ me know.
c: David Berry
M \COAL\W1C\BOWIELWPW
71D 3ow+[-A HE
