An appraisal of the success or reclamation efforts and in the event of failure of any <br />efforts, a short narrative on the suspected or determined cause of such failure. <br />RESPONSE: <br />Observations indicate that reclaimed areas exhibit good vegetative cover which is <br />adequately controlling erosion. <br />Tri State Generating Company constructed a road through an area that was topsoiled <br />and seeded in the fall of 1985. Tri State has assured us that upon completion of the <br />power line the road will be reclaimed (see Exhibit 2.41). <br />7. Estimates of the location and number of acres to be affected in the coming year, <br />RESPONSE: <br />Exhibit D-1, Mining Plan, shows the anticipated direction of mining. At the present <br />time, mining has not advanced as far as proposed on Exhibit D-1. This is due to low <br />production. Our proposed rate for the coming year should reach the 49,000 tons as <br />permitted. The anticipated disturbance for 1986-1987 is: <br />Area <br />Acres <br />Active pit advance 3.0 <br />Topsoil removed in advance of pit 1.0 <br />8. The effective date of this information provided above shall be no more than 45 days <br />prior to the anniversary date. <br />RESPONSE: <br />For the sake of continuity, the effective date of this information is from June 1, <br />1986 to June 1, 1987. <br />
