In order to
facilitate your revision I've presented the MLRD comment followed by CYCC's
response.
MLRD COMMENT:
Alluvial Wells
I/ 1. CYCC did not collect a full suite water quality sample for the third
quarter period at alluvial wells 006-AW-2 and 005-AZ-3. We understand
that the sites were frozen during April; however, this did not preclude
sampling during May or June. Please explain this omission.
RESPONSE:
The field samples for the above referenced wells were obtained for the third
quarter, but samples were not obtained fur full suite analysis. I do not
know why the samples were missed, the monitoring schedule had been
established and was not followed. The person who was responsible for the
sampling is no longer employed by Cyprus, therefore, I can not question him
to determine the reason for failing to fulfill the sampling requirement.
The monitoring commitments have been reviewed by the current staff so that
his situation should not arise in the future.
MLRD COMMENT:
/Spoil Wells
Only one of the two required full suite samples was collected at spoil well
026-SP-3. Please explain this omission.
RESPONSE:
This well is a low producer and a sufficient quantity of water was not
available for analysis. This will continue to be an ongoing occurrance if
sufficient water is not available in the well.
c~rp~us
